Articles on Champagne Krug
I had the pleasure to attend the press trip "Behind the Scenes" at Champagne Krug last April. It was a 1.5 day program starting with welcome dinner at the family Maison in Reims and the main topic was to reveal a newly-established winery named "Joseph" in Ambonnay. It was an excellent program that provided an opportunity to understand Krug and its wines more in depth.
From this experience, I wrote three articles which are now published with 3 media — Forbes Japan, Wands magazine and Why not? magazine. Each media has different readers and target audience, so I have slightly changed the focused topics and perspectives, as well as writing styles.
Topics include:
- new winery named « Joseph » built in Ambonnay
- story and philosophy of the founder and Krug family
- vins clairs 2023 and assemblage tasting especially focusing on Grande Cuvée
- tasting notes of current and new releases — Grande Cuvée 172 edition, Rose 28 edition, Vintage 2011
- Clos d’Ambonnay and its 2006 vintage
- interviews with Olivier Krug and Julie Cavil, cellar master
… etc.
